ABOUT HOUSTON VINTAGE
2016 will be our 7th year!
Houston Vintage is an organization that brings together vintage vendors and enthusiasts from Houston and the surrounding areas.

It's an opportunity for all who love and live vintage to exchange ideas, find some amazing treasures, learn through demos and lectures (style, dance and culture), and celebrate all that is vintage throughout the eras.

VINTAGE IS GREEN!
Reuse - Buying and wearing vintage clothes keeps them out of landfills...and in the past clothes were made to last so often the quality of the fabric and workmanship means the vintage piece you buy will last longer than many modern pieces made today.
Reduce - Adding vintage to your wardrobe means not buying as many new items.  You can express your own unique style!
Recycle - Does your favorite vintage dress have a stain or a tear?  You can use the fabric that is still pristine to make something else.

At Houston Vintage we definitely believe in being green!  When we've hosted events at venues that don't provide recycling receptacles, we've worked with wonderful organizations such as  Greeni Recycling  or personally taken the recyclables to city facilities.

GIVING BACK
Every year Houston Vintage donates part of the proceeds from the festival to a different local charity.  The cause we've chosen to support this year is the Red Cross Relief Fund for the Louisiana Victims .

Past charities and causes:
2015 - Laura Firmin Levine of Replay and The Place Upstairs - last year we helped "one of our own" with a contribution towards her medical bills.  We love you Laura!
2014 -  Tahirih Justice Center  - protects immigrant women and girls fleeing violence.  Their innovative and comprehensive approach combines direct legal service,s client-based public advocacy and public education.
2013 -  Kids' Meals  - delivers nutritious meals to the doors of children in need, free of cost, every weekday year round.
2012 -  Cecelia Ingrid Johnson  - Houston Vintage's donation was applied towards a stem cell infusion for beautiful local artist Cecelia.
2011 -  11 1/2 Street Foundation  - supports scholarships for socio-economically disadvantaged calculus students from Davis and Reagan High Schools.
2010 -  Bo's Place  - bereavement center offering grief support services to children and adults who have experienced the death of a child or an adult in their immediate family.
